Staged.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

Staged. is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Overview

Staged. is a subscription-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps home stagers, real estate agents, and related professionals manage staging projects, budgets, timelines, and client collaboration.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Staged. platform, including account owners, team members, collaborators, and anyone who interacts with our public website or shared project links.

Information We Collect

We collect and handle the following types of personal information:

Account information: Your name, email address, and business details (such as your professional role — e.g. agent, stylist, or freelancer) when you create an account or are invited to join a team.

Project data: Information you and your team enter into the platform, including property addresses, project notes, budget line items, invoice details, task descriptions, and milestone dates.

Uploaded files: Photos (including before-and-after images), documents, and other files you attach to budget items or projects.

Payment information: Billing details processed through our payment provider, Stripe. Staged. does not directly receive or store your full credit card number (see Payment Information below).

Usage data: Information about how you interact with the platform, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and activity logs recorded within your workspace for audit purposes.

How & Why We Collect It

We collect personal information directly from you when you register for an account, subscribe to a plan, invite team members, or enter project data into the platform. We also collect information indirectly when you are invited to collaborate on a project or join a team — in which case the person who invited you provides your email address so we can send you an invitation.

We collect this information for the primary purposes of providing the service, managing your subscription, enabling collaboration between users, processing payments, and providing customer support. Without this information, we would not be able to operate the platform or provide the features you have requested.

Payment Information

Staged. uses Stripe, a third-party payment processor, to handle all subscription payments and billing. When you enter payment details, your full card number, expiry date, and security code are transmitted directly to Stripe through their secure payment forms. Staged. never receives, processes, or stores your complete card details.

Instead, we retain only a tokenised reference from Stripe (such as a customer ID) that allows us to manage your subscription, process recurring billing, and handle refunds or plan changes. For more information about how Stripe handles your payment data, please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

Providing the service: Creating and managing your account, enabling project collaboration, generating invoices, and delivering the features of the platform.

Billing and subscription management: Processing subscription payments, managing free trials, handling plan upgrades or downgrades, and applying promotional codes or discounts.

Customer support: Responding to your enquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing assistance with the platform.

Product improvement: Analysing usage patterns to identify bugs, prioritise feature development, and improve the user experience. We do not use your project content (such as budget details or client information) for marketing or advertising purposes.

Security and compliance: Maintaining activity logs within your workspace for audit purposes, detecting and preventing unauthorised access, and complying with our legal obligations.

Data Sharing & Visibility

Staged. does not sell your personal information to third parties. Within the platform, the visibility of data is controlled by the permission settings configured by account owners and project creators.

Collaborators: When you are invited to collaborate on a specific project, the project owner can grant you permissions to view or add budget items, view or add invoices, and view the project timeline and photos. Your name and email address are visible to the project owner and other collaborators within that project.

Team members: When you join a team workspace, your name, email, and role are visible to the team owner and other team members. The team owner can configure granular permissions controlling whether you can view budgets, add budget items, view invoices, manage clients, or invite collaborators. Team members may have access to all projects within the team, subject to their assigned permissions.

Shared project links: Account owners can generate shareable links to project pages. If a share link is enabled, anyone with the link can view the shared project information (which may include budgets if the owner has chosen to share them) without logging in.

Service providers: We share limited information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform — such as Stripe for payment processing and cloud hosting providers for data storage. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to provide services to us.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by reputable hosting providers. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, or disclosure, including the use of encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) for data in transit, access controls that restrict data visibility based on user roles and permissions, and row-level security rules that prevent one user or team from accessing another's data without explicit permission.

However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you acknowledge that you provide your information at your own risk.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as long as is necessary to provide the services you have requested. The way your data is handled depends on your account status:

Active accounts: Your project data, budget information, uploaded photos, invoices, and team activity are retained for the duration of your subscription and are accessible through the platform.

Paused accounts: If you choose to pause your subscription, your account and all associated data are retained but access to the platform's core features is restricted. Your data remains stored and can be fully restored when you resume your subscription. Team members linked to your account will also have their access paused during this period.

Deleted accounts: If you delete your account, we initiate a process to remove your personal information and project data from the platform. This includes cancelling any active subscription, removing your user profile, and deleting your projects, budgets, invoices, photos, tasks, and client records. Some information may be retained in backup systems for a limited period before being permanently deleted, and we may retain certain records where required by law.

Revoked team members: If your team membership is revoked, your access to the team's workspace is removed immediately. Your user profile remains but is disassociated from the team, and your subscription status is set to cancelled.

Your Privacy Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

Access your personal information: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Much of this information is already accessible to you directly through the platform, including your account details, project data, and activity logs.

Correct your personal information: You can update your account details (such as your name and email) directly within the platform's settings. If you believe we hold inaccurate or outdated information, you may request that we correct it.

Request deletion of your personal information: You may request that we delete your personal information by deleting your account through the platform's settings, or by contacting us directly. We will take reasonable steps to delete your information, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

Withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent to collect or use your information, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the Contacting Us section below.

Cookies & Tracking

Staged. uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, maintain your login session, remember your preferences (such as theme and currency selection), and understand how the platform is used.

We may use Google Analytics or similar analytics tools to collect anonymised usage data, such as which pages are visited, how long users stay on the platform, and general geographic information. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

If we use UTM tracking parameters in our marketing links, these help us understand which campaigns or referral sources led you to the platform. This information is used solely for marketing analysis and improvement.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies; however, some features of the platform (such as staying logged in) may not function correctly without them.
